Zoro, Sanji and Chopper join the Fortnite Item Shop as One Piece wave two lands

Roronoa Zoro, Sanji and a Tony Tony Chopper Sidekick are now in the Fortnite Item Shop, led by a 3,200 V-Bucks Straw Hats Bundle. Here is what each item costs, how Zoro's Three Sword Style plays and what is coming next.

The second wave of Fortnite's One Piece crossover is live: Roronoa Zoro, Sanji and a Tony Tony Chopper Sidekick arrived in the Item Shop at 00:00 UTC on 8 November (7pm ET on 7 November). Two days earlier, the Zoro Cup gave the swordsman's outfit to the best competitive players.

The trio joins Monkey D. Luffy, Nami and Usopp, who have been on sale since the Treasure Hunters mini-season began with update v43.00 on 1 November. All of the One Piece cosmetics stay in the shop until 5 December at 23:59 UTC, the same date Epic has set for the Chapter 7 end event.

What is in the Item Shop

Zoro is the priciest of the new arrivals, and his swords come with the outfit as a pickaxe. Sanji costs less and comes with his Utensils as back bling. Chopper is not a playable character: he is a Sidekick, the companion item that follows you around, so you will find him in the Sidekicks section rather than with the outfits.

  • Roronoa Zoro outfit: 1,800 V-Bucks, with the Zoro's Swords pickaxe included
  • Zoro's Training Gear back bling and the Test of Will emote: 300 V-Bucks each
  • Sanji outfit: 1,600 V-Bucks, with Sanji's Utensils back bling included
  • Sanji's Utensils pickaxe: 800 V-Bucks
  • Tony Tony Chopper Sidekick: 1,500 V-Bucks

If you want the whole crew, the Straw Hats Bundle puts every Zoro, Sanji and Chopper item into one purchase for 3,200 V-Bucks, compared with 4,900 V-Bucks if you buy them separately. The first wave has its own One Piece Bundle at 4,000 V-Bucks, which covers all of the Luffy, Nami and Usopp items. Zoro is not part of the Battle Pass, which costs 800 V-Bucks and features Portgas D. Ace and Nico Robin.

How the Zoro Cup worked

Before the shop drop, Epic held the One Piece: Zoro Cup on 6 November. It was a Duos event with two separate qualifier sessions, one using Zero Build settings and one using standard Battle Royale rules with building. The best-placed players in each region earned the Roronoa Zoro outfit and its accessories, plus a Fortnite x One Piece Treasure Box in eligible countries.

Players who missed out get another shot at a free outfit in the Buggy Cup on 13 November. The top finishers in each region can earn the Buggy outfit and its accessories, again with a Treasure Box in eligible countries. Prizes go to the top placements, not to everyone who takes part, and the event details are in the Compete tab in the lobby.

Zoro's Three Sword Style in matches

You do not have to buy anything to fight like Zoro. Three Sword Style is an Epic-rarity melee weapon in Battle Royale that drops from chests and appears as floor loot, and you can use it with any outfit. It lets you hold three katanas at once and is designed for close-range fights:

  • Slash: press Fire for a combo of 45 damage per hit, with the third hit dealing 70, for 160 damage in total
  • Short dash: jump during a slash to close a small gap or chase an opponent who is running away
  • Charged dash: aim to charge a lunge that deals 100 damage on contact, on a cooldown
  • Deflect: while the dash charges, the swords block bullets coming from the front

The deflect is what makes it more than a novelty. If you charge the dash while an enemy is shooting at you from the front, you can block their shots and then close the gap in one move. Slashes and dashes also count towards the One Piece quests, so the weapon is worth picking up even if you usually prefer a shotgun.
